Turnover on the up, technological innovation, the development of new patents and a propensity for exports pave the way for a 2015 set to confirm the company’s growth trend.

logo makroMakro Labelling has demonstrated its vitality to the full during the past year: machine number 350 has been installed and the declared objectives have been achieved, with sales 15% up over the previous year, exports still high (today around 80% of total turnover) and work progressing on the new premises, due for completion at the beginning of 2015 when the entire company will be moving there definitively.

“Makro Labelling continues to achieve positive results, as also confirmed by the recently concluded editions of Pack Expo Chicago, BrauBeviale and Emballage, where we presented our complete range of labellers and latest developments”, confirms Massimo Manzotti, President and Sales Director of Makro Labelling . “Today we can reach an ideal catchment area of customers ranging from the United States to Australia and from Italy to North Africa and all of Europe where we are particularly present on the key French and English markets. Our customers are ever more appreciative of the distinctive characteristics of Makro Labelling machines – the very latest generation technology, modularity and extreme affordability with operating costs reduced to a minimum. This is why we predict further growth in 2015 .”

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFor Makro Labelling, 2014 has stood out for the development of important technologies, consolidation of the strategic mineral water market with the new MAK Roll Feed machines and penetration of the pharmaceutical market with the MAKLINE series of labellers.
MAK1_Roll_FeedThanks to the use of wrap-round plastic labels on a reel with hot melt application, the new MAK Roll Feed series of rotary labellers for various formats of PET bottle guarantees maximum economic benefits for production with respect to traditional OPP or pre-cut paper labels. Presented for the first time in 2014, this technology was developed together with Te.Pro, the Bologna-based company acquired at OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAthe beginning of the year by Makro Labelling. As well as applying the labels, the MAKLINE series of labellers for blocks of variously sized ampoules (from 5 to 25 ml) can also print technical information on the labels and adapt to the format of the ampoule on which the labels are applied.

2014 also saw development of two important patents: the vision control quality control system to verify pack precision and reject faulty containers, and Follower, the innovative bottle guide system guaranteeing label centring, fast bottle format change and minimal maintenance costs.

IMG_8175“The design of Makro Labelling machines is always based on the ability to be modular, flexible and easy to use. Innovation and investments in research are therefore fundamental. This is the only way we can guarantee the ability to anticipate and respond rapidly and appropriately to the market’s requests” continues Massimo Manzotti, President and Sales Director of Makro Labelling.
“With the Follower, we have designed and patented a revolutionary optical system guaranteeing users reliability and extreme efficiency. In 2015 we will be presenting a further innovation – integration of the optical centring system with video cameras to guarantee ever greater precision and accuracy in guiding the bottle”.

As well as innovation, Makro Labelling’s growth objectives for 2015 are also very ambitious. In terms of production capacity the growth strategy involves expanding the production department and increasing the production speed for glue and self-adhesive labellers, while at commercial level, growth will involve increasing the company’s market share throughout Asia and in North America, currently covered by NEWMAPAK Ltd of Montreal, Canada. The strategy also includes penetrating new strategically important and strongly developing markets such as Mexico, the Caribbean area and East Europe.
