INTERSICOP

INTERSICOP

18 - 22 February 2022
Madrid - SPAIN (EUROPE)

The fair, which has firmly established itself as the leading event for the bakery, pastry and ice cream sectors, once again surpassed all expectations.

Visitors and exhibitors alike were very satisfied with the comprehensive commercial exhibition and the numerous parallel activities at INTERSICOP 2019, the International Bakery, Pastry, Ice Cream and Coffee Show, organised by IFEMA, from 23 to 26 February at Feria de Madrid. The fair brought together 293 companies (212 direct participants), exceeding all attendance expectations with the visit of 21,420 trade professionals, a growth of 14.2% on 2017.

The number of international exhibitors increased to occupy 30% of the stands, with the direct participation of companies from Germany, Belgium, China, France, Italy, Morocco, Portugal and Turkey. This trend will continue in the future, as the Show offers contact with the Spanish and Portuguese market, the bridge to Latin America and Europe, with the areas close to Spain, such as the Mediterranean region.

The fair is also a reflection of the latest food trends, with attractive healthy products, from low-carbohydrate breads and gluten-free sourdoughs, to premium biscuits, black-coated chocolates with semi-salted butter caramel and new ice cream flavours.

One of the keys to the success of INTERSICOP 2019 was once again the technical seminar programme taught by internationally renowned pastry chefs, bakers and ice cream makers who shared techniques, projects and lines of work, creating great interest among visitors.

INTERSICOP 2019 also hosted four important national pastry, bread making and ice cream championships: the MMAPE Championship for Spain's Best Master Artisan Pastry Chef, the Spanish Ice Cream Championship, the National Championship of Pastry Students and the III Artisan Bakery Championship.

INTERSICOP has established itself as a key event and place of exchange for manufacturers, distributors, teachers, students, the specialist press and professionals from the three major sectors represented at the show: bakery, pastry and ice cream. Coffee increasingly has a greater presence at the show, the result of the growing trend of establishments in the industry that include it in their offering.
