BAXI, entering the cogeneration world, confirms its effort toward the research of technologies capable to respect the environment and to allow cost saving, being aware of energetic resources lack and the law dispositions.

Cogeneration (CHP - Combined Heat and Power) means the combined production of heat and power that has been achieved employing a main energy (gas). Cogeneration installations give remarkable benefits both energetically speaking and in the reduction of polluting emissions thanks to their outputs. It has been a while since Baxi Group has started to invest in different cogeneration technologies: in micro cogeneration with the Stirling engine and fuel cells; in mini cogeneration with the internal combustion engine.

Stirling technology, that generates 1 kW of electrical power, 24 kW of output and efficiency up to 92%, is already present in the U.K. Main advantages of Stirling system are the following:

    * for the environment: power generated near the exploiting point is more efficient and with less polluting emissions
    * for the user: cost saving and the chance of "selling” to the network that surplus energy
    * for the designer: effective solution in line with what is expected by E.U. about energy savings
    * for the utilities: effective solution in line with what is expected by E.U. about energy savings.
