BEMA specialization in the manufacturing of stretch wrapping machines for palletized loads for the beverage, food and tissue industries starts in 2002, with an innovative solution that has revolutionized the concept of pallet wrapping itself.

This new idea was born as a response to the changing needs of the target market, resulting from the considerable changes which took place in production and logistics in the recent years: on one hand, a great increase in production lines performance thanks to the technological development of the systems upstream of pallet packaging and a substantial change in goods transportation methods and, on the other hand, a substantial stagnation in pallet wrapping field.

From the beginning, the purpose of the company of Reggio Emilia is to create a machine capable of wrapping every kind of product, from the most resistant to the most delicate, handling different sizes of pallets and offering flexible and customized configurations, always granting high wrapping quality, load stability, product integrity, film saving and high production speed.

The result is SILKWORM, a highly technological product with an output ranging from 70 to 160 Euro-pallets/hour and from 80 to 190 Half-pallets/hour, thanks to which BEMA has become an established reality on the international market.

SILKWORM product range includes two lines: LS, column-type model for medium-speed production lines, and TURBO, equipped with an anthropomorphic industrial robot for high-speed production lines.

The system has many strengths: the use of 1000 mm reels, main distinctive feature  of  BEMA systems, allows to wrap more product layers at the same time working at a higher operating speed and maintaining a low film delivery rate.

The sophisticated electronic film pre-stretching (over 400%) and lay-on-force control, the capacity to perform criss-crossed wrapping patterns and the synchronization of the powered top press plate with the rotating table in an electrical axis (patented system) guarantee high wrapping quality and great pallet load stability.

Particularly useful in case on the wrapper converge different kind of products with different features and different wrapping requirements, SILWORM is equipped with a system associating the information coming from the data tracking of the lines upstream with the wrapping recipes already set through the system interface: the machine is then able to adjust, in addition to the pre-stretching, also the film dispensing and the lay-on-force on the product, granting a heavy reduction of film consumption.

All configuration parameters of the recipe can be set through the operation panel, without having to intervene on the machine.

BEMA has reached the very important result of having its machines working also with film reels of 60 Kg.: with two of these it is possible to reach an operational autonomy of the machine equal to a full production shift (eight hours).

Moreover, the use of large-sized reels grants an additional advantage in terms of saving: it allows to amortize much more the cost of the reel core.

BEMA machines can be employed with all different dimensions and types of reels available on the market. The simple and ergonomic device for the vertical reel changeover reduces film damage risk, both during reel replacement and removal operations.

All SILKWORM range models can be equipped with automatic wrapping head changeover, with a head changeover time of just 30 seconds for the TURBO range and of 60 seconds for the LS range.

The heads can be equipped with a specific mechanical device based on the roping technology, which allows to obtain a multiple-sized film grouping during the palletized load wrapping operation; this is useful for different aims: the micro-rope (30-50 mm of film bunching) is extremely useful for stabilizing particularly delicate products, the rope (100 mm of film bunching) is used to stabilize products which offer high resistance to deformation, the super-rope (total film bunching) is used to join half-pallets together (patented system).

On the basis of the preset recipe the machine is able to automatically apply the rope in any pallet position.
The advanced software technology combined to an essential mechanical design involves a dramatic reduction in maintenance costs and machine stoppage risks and the presetting for remote assistance allows a fast system retrieval in case of problems.
Speed, saving, productivity, flexibility.

The dream of every company becomes reality with BEMA, that aims to foster its growth trend focusing on R&D, offering custom-tailored solutions, improving after-sales services and trying to be the strong and reliable business partner the customers expect BEMA to be.
